So eventually I stopped using the brushes of the program and instead I manipulated the photos of the pigments in order for them to conceal or expose, to soften or make a hard age, to make a complementary juxtaposition of colors or a color contrast etch. I used various brushes.īut all the digital manipulation (brushes …) eventually was hidden when I started to combine in various layers the photographs of the real pigments. I was able to photograph pigments even before they settle on the paper and lose their saturation or when they were moist and showed their granular and other qualities to the fullest.Īfter I processed a photo in Corel painter/photoshop I started to sketch it and replacing parts of it with my digital drawing. In advance, I had photographed the same white paper in the same light conditions. The real watercolor part of the process is that I used photos of freshly applied pigments on cheap watercolor paper. The picture is made by combining photos of real watercolor pigments with a sketch or a photo, through Corel painter and photoshop. I am also posting this on watercolors Forum because I tried to make it look as close to a genuine watercolor as possible and this might is of interest to some of you in order to make a digital sketch before committing to the real hard thing.
